Great to have some more Queenslanders.

Don't take any notice of what they say about us Down South!

As a born and bred Queenslander, it has never occurred to me that anyone south of the border has an opinion of us that was worth taking notice of! :)

I thought the D70 had reached the end of its manufacturing life, as well as the D200 that are on offer because of the new expected arrival. As I heard at my last Brisbane Camera Group meeting.

By the way, I am from Dizzy Brizzy too!

Hi

I am a photograher from Boonah but work in Ipswich. I love the Nikon and want to upgrade my D40x to a D3 or D300.
As i am only a small person i am worried that the D3 would be to heavy.
Look forward to hearing from any other local photographers

I'll be in Brissie in early Aug, and again 3 weeks later, so I'll keep an eye out for any meets around those times. Hopefully I'll have a camera again by then, heh. :D

Short notice, I know, but I'm in Brisbane for just over a week and finally have a camera again, so am looking for shooting ideas/locations. Any suggestions from those in the know? I can find my way around but when I lived here (for just a few years), I wasn't really into photography so I'm sort of clueless re good locations.

The Mt Coot-tha Botanical Gardens usually have interesting wildlife around the lake. They open at 8am.
Walkabout Creek at Brisbane Forest Park Headquarters has heaps of wildlife opportunities including a walk through aviary and wallaby enclosure. It's open from 9am with a small entry fee.
Southbank also has lots of photographic opportunities 24 hours a day.
Depends what your interests are really.

Good point, bluebell - interests might differ from person to person. I'm open to most types of photography, so any recommendations welcome. :)

I've not done much wildlife photography but Mt Coot-tha Bot Gdns could be good. Might actually head to the lookout now and see what the sunset does. Southbank too would probably be worth a stroll.

Thanks for the ideas.

Thank you Bluebell. I didn't know about the Walkabout Creek. I must visit sometime.
