Postby sheepie on Thu Oct 04, 2007 3:11 pm

Hi guys and gals - anyone up the Gold Coast interested in doing something on Sunday the 18th November?

Looks like I'll be up that way and would love to catch up with a few if possible.

Hi Leon
I can't make a commitment that far out for health reasons (nothing serious, but some days I can't travel); but if I can be there, I will.

I'll keep tabs on the thread until the date.

Yip - will be staying at Kirra Beach, so somewhere around there would be great. Not sure if I'll have transport yet :)

I'll leave it to you guys/gals to organise as you know what's worth doing! Something other than Beach would be good, but open to your ideas :D

Think I'll be going there already :cough: :cough:

Don't know how far away any National Parks are - something like that would be good to get to. May have transport, just got to get a few more things organised :)

Ummmmm... we have the Gold Coast Hinterland and stuff reasonably close-ish... but its a bummer of a place to shoot due to the shadows and tourists...

I'm dying here peoples.. how about some idea's.. ??? I'm not from down that way and its been ages since I went shooting on the Gold Coast (well cept for weddings cause they don't count)... but there has to be some nice parks or something close by...

and a pub?

:)

Trouble is Natural Bridge/Arch will be a colossal pain in the ass on a weekend !!! .... I'll go and badger Damo and see what he comes up with - Burleigh Heads NP is there too, but weekends are a nightmare :(

OK - what about making it the Friday? Is anyone likely to be available?

If that timing makes it easier to do something worthwhile, and we can get some numbers together then that may be the answer.

OK - so it looks like Friday isn't a go-er ;) (new it wouldn't be, but thought I'd put it out there as an option)

Still in your hands as to what we do, I really am flexible and open to suggestions :)

Sorry Sheepie - I can't make it now. I've got a commercial shoot that, through no fault of mine, has going longer than anticipated and I have to use this weekend to make up time. Not happy but not a lot I can do about it.

If nothing else transpires before hand I am on for a Saturday or Sunday afternoon shoot. I work EARLY mornings and need a kiddie nap when I get home but could get to Kirra by 2.00ish. As for locations...... I have been wanting to do an afternoon shoot at Southport Spit for a while but want some serious wave action for that one - not sure that this weekend is going to be great for the surf.

I am sure with open eyes we can find something to shoot.
