The Group at the meet at Lamington, Sorry should have got the names left to right. It was a good showing of members, I only lasted a short while as I had been in bed with the flu for 3 days during the previous week, and the exercise brought on the cold sweats, and made me feel quite unwell, so I thought it better to leave, so apologies to the members for not being there at the end.

Cheers

Great stuff!

All we need now is for someone to pin names to the faces and we'll be right.

Well done, and thank you.

Now I'll be able to sleep tonight.

Oh yes, and welcome; please post some photos, and don't be stranger around these parts.

Well done on remembering everyones name. I might give the 12k walks a miss from now on, but I did enjoy meeting fellow D70 users. I'm up for a citycat trip though (will the saltwater spray cause to much probs with our lovley D70's?).

A 12 Km walk!! You guys are nuts - we strolled around the Botanic Gardens for a while then sat down for an extended morning tea.

Well done anyway, thanks for the photo, good work with getting the banner organised from Birdy.

A 12km walk... right... perhaps ya'll should take a note from the Birddog Mini Meets... we sit down... we talk... and we usually eat.

Or maybe we should take a note from ya'll... :)

Well done fellow Queenslanders (including honorary ones)! Judging by the happy faces, must have been fun.
Sorry I couldn't make this one - am currently hosting visitors from NZ including my 5yo god-daughter.
Sorry to hear about xerebus' sad news - my condolances, Mark.

Hi all.

Thanks to those who participated in what was a fun and informative day. I think we managed to pull off a pretty good event and I look forward to doing it again soon. There's something about pain and adversity that brings a group together!

The photo in front of the Binna Burra sign was taken just after we arrived, which is why we all look so refreshed and happy. Some of us managed to keep that demeanour throughout the day but the rest of us were just plain sapped. A few months on the stairmaster should do the trick..

Those that turned around from the falls and retraced their steps to save a bit of time did 12kms, those that continued the loop supposedly did 15kms and I can assure you those extra 3 really sorted us out.

Hats off to Tamara ("Byron") who led the charge back to base with Kokoda-esque dedication. I was just holding back so I didn't show you up Tamara...no, really I was!

I'm sure there'll be some stunning photos posted soon once we've all had a nice long Radox soak.

Leigh,
You actually did 15km walk as our waterfall detour was 3.2km return :)
Great chatting with you on the way back.

Everyone else,
Not only did leigh walk a very tiring 15km but he also did it with a smile and a bung knee (u can see it was strapped in the group shot). Slightly insane but a trooper for sure!

It was a great meet, both Diana and I enjoyed meeting everyone. We had a fun time and took a few photos. Can't wait to catch up again - city cat ride sounds fine 8)

Bernie,
Didn't realise you were recovering from a flu - you did an outstanding job making it as far as you did under those conditions. Hope you get well soon and I look forward to catching up with you again under better circumstances. Cool group pic to by the way.

Rebecca,
I trust the journey back after the waterfall wasn't too painful :) . Diana and I look forward to catching up with you at the next meet. Will check out the link you provided - Ta

Tamara,
Your fitness put us all to shame. Being in the local area I have no doubt we can catch up soon to D70ise the beautiful coastline from Yamba to Byron (with no back-tracking of course  ). Looking forward to seeing a sample of your work on the forum.

Simon,
Always a pleasure to catch up with you and listen to your interesting stories. Awaiting your images with interest so that I can match up my shots of you taking the photo. Let me know how your writing is progressing.

Brett & Corinne,
What a lovely couple! Hope you made your appointments OK in the afternoon and weren't too worn out for the rest of the days adventures. Brett, Let me know how Thursday goes. Will be in touch soon.

Cheers,

Well, don't lurk! You've been here for almost four months, but have only made two postings?? Surely you can do better than that!

And do please put your locale into your profile.

Gary - I consider myself truely chastised!!
Manta can vouch for the fact that I generally run around like a headless chicken - but that's no excuse is it?
I'll update my profile now, and will post a photo as you read this.
Please forgive :)

And yes Simon - next time, no excuses... I'll be there with bells on :)

Let me know if you guys ever put something together on this score - I never get the chance to head down that way and I'd love to tag along. Might be asking a dumb question here - wouldn't be the first time - Are 4WDs permitted on the beaches down there, with or without permits?

Well now that I know it was a 15k walk, I know why I'm still sore. lol

Look forward to your pics.

Also if there are any headshots of you guys suitable for the D70 mugs gallery please PM me and I'll organise to add them.

Bernie - if/when you see this I think most if not all can be lifted from your original posted here.

Thanks Trevor. Pity you couldn't make it.
I must admit, I wasn't happy with most of my shots. I found I just wasn't nailing the right settings and the exposures were all over the place.
The others are bound to have some nice ones..

Only one leach - Craig got a photo of it while it was chewing it's way into my hand - plus I got a stack of unidentified bites on my upper leg that didn't come up 'til Monday night and itch like hell. A work colleague got exactly the same thing when he was in the Lamington area a couple of weeks ago. Curious.

More a case of being borne off on Byron's shoulders, Chris! I don't think she raised a sweat all day. Something in that Watego water...
