Some classic Melbourne locations

Postby sparky_mark on Wed Dec 01, 2004 9:45 am

Hi,

Being a Melbourne-ite I can mention a couple of the classic Melbourne locations...

1) Southbank (ie: Casino) is a lovely area, particularly at night. The city lights, yarra river and Flinders St Station provide a wonderful backdrop from many locations.

2) The Dandenongs. Options up here range from the many gardens - with lakes, waterfalls and a lovely damp rain-forest atmosphere for much of the year. There is also Puffing Billy - including a couple of lovely bridges that it crosses over every hour or two when running.

3) Inner city - as with any large city there are a wonderful array of lovely churches and other significant buildings in the CBD. I certainly intend on spending a day walking the city sometime soon just taking architecture and candids.

Regards,

Mark. PS: I'd love to here some other Melbourne related suggestions. Particularly nice landscape / panoramic locations.

Welcome mark!!

Near the casino is great during the fire show...

I love the Yarra... there is something cool about vinyards... not just the produce :)
