Rob - your camera does not need protection - with that lens you should be able to shoot the beach from your lounge room!!!

This has already been discussed: ultra thin condoms are the go for lens protection, you only lose 1 stop. :)

That is overkill!! ;)

C'mon it's a Nikon - it'll survive any thrashing you care to dish out its way.

It's called Kite surfing.

Awesome fun and extremmly good for your fitness as well. When the wind gets going you really have to hold on tight.

They certainly rip along.

While I was in Hawaii, I saw a guy doing it with no straps on his board, so it was virtually just a normal surf board. Bunch of nutters if you ask me :D

Just make sure that, if you're using glow-in-the-dark condoms, you adjust your exposure to compensate for the extra light.

This is a relatively new sport and sometimes is called kiteboarding (the most common term around here).

In Squamish people are coming from all over as we get a real steady breeze in the summer. I keep meeting people from OZ and the UK for summers of kiteboarding. I have a couple of pics but they're in film. I'll have to wait for next summer to go down there and take a couple more pics of them.
