2x2 Photo meet Cremorne Point walk 11 Oct 08

Postby stubbsy on Sun Sep 14, 2008 3:16 pm

The first of our regular 2x2 Photo Meets (held the second Saturday of every second month) will be on Saturday 11th October (that's the weekend after the October long weekend). We'll be having a leisurely stroll through Cremorne Reserve from Cremorne Point to Mosman. You can meet us at Circular Quay at 9:45am to catch the ferry to Cremorne Point Wharf, or meet us at Cremorne Point Wharf at 10:00 am. From there we'll take a walk that meanders through the Lex and Ruby Graham Gardens (should be plenty of beautiful spring blossoms to see). We'll then continue along the edge of Mosman Bay where there should be plenty of local wildlife as well as views of Mosman Bay itself from various vantage points. We'll finish at Mosman where we'll have a casual lunch before catching a ferry home. It's a nice easy walk and will be a great day out both photographically and socially. For more details of the walk see THIS PDF

Please indicate your interest below.

Peter,

I'm interested in this one, it's been too long since the last time I've been in Sydney.

thanks,

I'll put my hand up for the this one. I'm a little tentative right now, but that's cause it's a few weeks away. Footy has finished here and I'm free more weekends so i should be good to go!

PJS and I are interested, but not committing ATM as we are not thinking beyond a certain wedding on the 26th Sept
(Well we hope its certain. We'll be royally P.O'd if it doesn't go ahead :) )

Wedding over.
Pam and I would love to come. We will probably park at Mosman and walk or ferry to Cremorne.
It will depend, however on Pam getting over her flu, and me not catching it. I am beginning to worry though, but not as much as P. She knows what I am like when I am unwell.

Hey guys, I am an exec at the USYD's photographic society (PhotoSoc) and we have started to organise regular outings, and the next one will fall on the 11th of this month. I was just wondering, since a lot of our regulars are away, would it be welcome if I just bring them along to this 2x2 event?

I will be coming to this 2x2 event as I would love to meet some of you guys in person, and I have a feeling that this weeks PhotoSoc minimeet will not be heavily attended (not many active members atm).

Cheers

The forecast for Saturday looks promising (Chance of a shower, top of 24 as I type this on Friday morning) so we should have a great day.

If joining us at Circular Quay please be at the terminal by 9:40 am in time for the 9:55am ferry. If meeting us at Cremorne it's Cremorne Point Wharf at 10:05 where I'll have some additional info and some news for you (can't say what until then). We'll then be walking to Mosman and will pass Old Cremorne Wharf on the way so if we are worn out we can catch the ferry from there.

So far I have the following:

Stubbsy
Mr Darcy
PJS
aim54x + friends
Matt K & bag carrier + friends
Glen
Sirhc55

Possibles:
Phoenix
Sandy Feet
trotkiller
nnnnsic

For those whose contact details I lack please PM and we can exchange mobile numbers should you need to get in touch.

A big thank you to Peter for organising this walk, a tremendous time had by all walking through a beautiful spot. The company, weather and location were excellent. There was a surprise challenge on in which everyone was given a different theme, which added to the interest for the day.

A few images straight after the event:

My theme was reflections - so here is a reflective girl

Yeah I'm a bit bummed i couldn't make it either! Damn i really wanted to. I got a bit lazy over the last few days and just needed some R&R, and ended up with a heap of photo work i'd forgotten to do.

Hope it was a good walk!

Thanks Stubbsy for organising this walk. A great day out, and the themed competition was a great surprise. (Made even better by winning :D )
And thank you Glen for donating the prize. (Wolf Eyes Angel A) I tried the torch out last night. A great tight beam, but with enough spill to make it useful for walking in the bush. Not quite as bright as my 6DMaglite, but not far off it, and a whole lot smaller. Perfect for the backpack.

I am going through photos ATM. Will post a few when I get them sorted.

Cameron, really like your last image of the flower, really something. Leigh, great portrait of Matt, Philo looks perfect with the flower and the 'in action' portrait of Cameron.
