Mid Month Madness #3

Postby Mr Darcy on Tue Nov 11, 2008 11:02 pm

This is a blatant copy of Big Red's Weekend Challenges.
I felt the need for an additional one as it is often difficult to fit the time in for either photographing or posting.

The aim is to pick 4 themes and everyone who wants to have a go at them can post up their pics in the image section by midnight after the closing time and put a link from their thread into this thread.
You don't have to attempt all themes. Just the ones you can manage.

Any DSLRusers Member who cares to can then vote for their favorite on the four themes and post up in this thread with any comments if they care to make them. You don't have to enter to vote.

The Themes are:
Theme 1: …merry
Theme 2: …black on black
Theme 3: …strong
Theme 4: …accepting

Voting lasts for 48 hours then I will tally up the votes and post up here.
If you win ... you get nothing but praise.
If you cheat ... you get nothing but Karma.
You cannot vote for your own pics.

Rules:
Pic must be taken in the Challenge Period by the entrant.
Any PP is allowed as the voters will say what is too much
Normal posting rules apply. In particular, Pic 800 on longest side.

You may take and post photos at any time from now till closing

Pics to be entered by midnight Wednesday 19-Nov-2008
Voting to be from 07:30 Thursday 20-Nov-2008 to midnight Friday 21-Nov-2008
Late entries will be accepted, but only until the first vote is cast.

Don't forget ... its just for fun so even if you didn't get a fantastic pic for a theme ... post it up anyway

As an extra challenge, you may try to get all four themes in a single photo. If you attempt this, post it in a separate thread. This will allow you to potentially get double votes.

Tell me about it. I will be camping on the weekend, and my friend has sworn off booze since his heart attack, so I won't even have a chance for merry.

Maybe i'll try the traditional shot of the inside surface of a lens cap :P

Pam has announced she will be boycotting the comp (I hope to convince her otherwise.)

No problem Shane. My rules differ from yours here. You can take and post at any time in the period. Which is until midnight tonight (Wed).

Just as well. I still have one photo to do. I am very busy with other things at the moment. I hope to get it done today, but if not, I will only be posting three tonight.

And my votes are:
Theme 1: …merry
Big Red. Better improvisation than mine! I bet the props used lasted for less than 10 minutes after this shot...

Theme 2: …black on black
Mr Darcy.

Theme 3: …strong
mmmm beeer. Mr Darcy.

Theme 4: …accepting
Mr Darcy.
Big Red's would have been better if there was a kids hand reaching out to grab an M&M.

pjs, you took some nice sharp pictures this time round, and I liked your interpretation of the subjects.
