Adelaide: Any plans for Easter yet?

Postby sheepie on Sun Jan 15, 2006 7:58 am

Yeah, I know it's early!

Looks like we're headed Adelaide way at Easter. Would only be in the city for a couple of days before heading out to Flinders Range, but would be great to catch up with the gang over there.

Easter Monday looks the most likely day from our current plans.

Anyone wanting to join us camping at Quorn and Wilpena Pound would be most welcome as well ;)

I thought we're heading to Wanaka, NZ for the Warbird Airshow at Easter Holiday.

Anything good in Adelaide?

Hey! I remembered in one of your posts, you recommended yourself to return to NZ often as you didn't do it in the past.

I'm sure that we can organise something. I will be staying home at Easter. So I'm available for a mini-meet, and there may be others. When you have finalised your plans, please add to the thread date available.

And Birddog114, there is plenty to see in Adelaide, so come over and find out.

Birddog114 - this one would be right down your alley - nude bathing at Maslin's Beach on the South Coast and 40 minutes from Adelaide CBD

Nude bathing? Sydney has few spots as Lady Jane beach.
Nelson Bay has some also, not too far from my DRP.

Hi Sheepie,
We don't have any Easter plans at this stage either. I'm sure there would be a few people to meet up with!

Easter is the first weekend of the school holidays for NSW and SA - I'd be getting in to Adelaide on Easter Sunday (night) and staying a couple of days. A meet on the Monday afternoon flowing into a dinner somewhere would be really cool :) Somewhere that allows some good shots of Adelaide itself, with plenty of variety, would be good.

Were I closer Sheepie the answer would be a resounding yes for camping around the Flinders. I think it will be a bottler of trip. :)

Yes, so many wineries, how many do you think that you can visit a day and doing fully tasting of their fruit of labour?

For me, I prefer to do two or maximum of three wineries in one full day! That's!!!!! the more you do tasting just wasting your time and resources.

Easter ideas

Postby rookie2 on Thu Feb 02, 2006 11:04 am

for those who like the colour and flair of the races (and maybe a punt or two) there is of course Oakbank Races on Easter Friday and Monday. THE biggest PICNIC race meeting in the world if you believe the hype.

Personally the Murray River on a houseboat is the best way to enjoy the real SA over Easter.

this year, we're lucky enough to be heading to Borneo for a 10 day break.
Maybe buy a new lens and a SB 800 in KL and then hopefully get some good shots from the beaches and jungles...
cheers

This is to confirm that sheepie and his son have made it to Adelaide in one piece. Big V and I had dinner with them tonight along with his brother and family. They are heading off tomorrow for the Flinders Ranges.
