Melbourne Camera repair

Postby Gripboy on Wed Jul 04, 2007 9:18 pm

Hi All, . I'm looking for a reputable repair shop to take my Nikon Coolpix 5700 to. The sensor appears is broken, when attempting to take a picture no image appears, and it looks much like the video signal is out of sync. Playback of previously taken images is fine, so I know it's not the LCD(s).

I woul apprecaite any suggestions.

Thanks in advance,

GB

Camera Clinic in Easey Street Collingwood is an authorised Nikon repairer.

However the repair cost maybe more than the camera is worth.

Thanks, Ill check them out. This will be an insurance job (thanks Amex!) so I may just get a pay-out and put the $$ towards a new D-200.

Great news!
I found a service note (ok, saw a message on another forum) on the Nikon site regarding a 'recall' for several Nikon Coolpix cameras. Even though this camera is 5 years old, it is being repaired FREE OF CHARGE! (ok, Camera clinic is charging a $20 handling fee).

As soon as I'm over the shock, I will be writing a letter to Michio Kariya-san President, CEO and COO of Nikon.

I've grown so used to technology being treated by manufactures as 'disposable', that I never dreamed that a 5 year old camera would be repaired free of charge.
Ironically, I was for a moment thinking of buying a Canon DLSR... Nikon has won my loyalty.
