This is an area for you to post images so that you may share with us a technique that you have mastered, or are trying to master. Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

Hi Matt
Great photos. Really liked the light photo - you captured the distorted image of the bridge so well through the glass and it contrasts so well with the bridge in the background. Great use of DOF and exposure. Well spotted and then thought out. This is my favourite. Also liked flag. I was just thinking yesterday how you can walk around and there are all sortrs of photo opportunities right in front of you, but you have to be in a creative mood to "see" them - you were obviously in that mood! Well done!

All great shots but I agree with Vic - the shot of the light/bridge is great - this should be called design IMO

Great work, Matt. I like them all but the two design shots stand out for me: the starkness and rigidity of the shapes in the ship photo, the subtle tones in the flag shot.

nice shots :)

#1 nice composition
#2 i find the door and clutter to the left to be distracting maybe eliminating these or taking a position witrh cleaer lines would lead the eye more to the fan
#3 i really want to see the face in this shot maybe a position infront wiating for the rotation to come to you. the biggest thiong with action shots is the face and expression of the people without these it may as well be dummies
#4 nice new perspective on an old location the hardest thing to do sometimes is photograph somehwere that is often photographed and make itr good but this works
#5 again i'm abit distrated in this there is alot happening maybe bringing the the apeture down to wide open would introduce some bokeh and give more of a point of focus

thanks :) it is alot easier to critique and suggest things for good photo's like yours because all it is is tweaks. i do the same thing with every photo i take when i take a photo and i can't pick it apart and improve on it that is when i will sit back and stop, i don't think it's ever going to happen hehe
