Got a thin skin? Then look elsewhere. Post a link to an image that you've made, and invite others to offer their critiques. Honesty is encouraged, but please be positive in your constructive criticism. Flaming and just plain nastiness will not be tolerated. Please note that this is not an area for you to showcase your images, nor is this a place for you to show-off where you have been. This is an area for you to post images so that you may share with us a technique that you have mastered, or are trying to master. Typically, no more than about four images should be posted in any one post or thread, and the maximum size of any side of any image should not exceed 950 px.

Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

Kris, I think the 'big reds' look great on your car and must do the job very well. You didn't knock them off from some poor unsuspecting 996tt driving through Chatwood did you?

Hi Kris,

here is my opinion:
what kind of fotos of that car would make you want to buy it ?
It would have to shine, the light would need to reflect and play on the car.
Sparkle is the trick. Bring it out !
Reflections and bright colours would be nice. Some boldness.
Just my 20 cents worth.
Cheers
Christian.

I think you have some nice shots of the car but one thing I can point out is always check your image before & after you take it (with digital anyway)...

For instance image number 10, I think this could be a better image with better lighting but also the first thing I noticed was the dirt in the number 3... The rest of the car is so clean and then you have taken an image of a dirty logo...

Anyway, I always try to look at everything (not that is always works) before pressing the shutter.

The good thing here is you can easily go out and clean the logo and then try again, you can even clean my car if you wish

Thanks for the input guys, yes you know I didnt even know the S3 logo was THAT dirty until I actually saw the photograph. The area in which the shot was taken is fairly ordinary (gf's parents place) but I want to head down to the Bridge (of which I live very very close to) to take some good photos when my shots improve..

The 'big reds' came from the Porsche dealer :) and yes, they do the job exceptionally well with the increased power the car has (210kw,380NM)

I have a question, when taking photographs of logos and small things close up, what settings seem to work well if the subject is well lit?

Kris, for your own safety and that of your Audi, you might wanna blank out the number plates so curious types don't go searching for your car based on your location stated in your profile.
