First Formal

My niece had her year 12 formal tonight. I was asked to take some photos beforehand. The little Panasonic with the superlative 45mm F1.8 did it's job. To be honest, if the light is right, gear has very little to do with it.

I always say, that if my kids/nieces/nephews/grandkids etc have Robyn's brains and my looks, they're all set for life... :biglaugh: :biglaugh:

Nice Ozi, crop that first down to remove most of the top green bit, the green is nice but too much of it and draws the viewer away. I reckon the second one with the expression is great, maybe alittle vignetting ?

Thanks Gerry. Good suggestions. I usually crop for iphone 6+ screen size so it's not always the best for normal viewing. I also think I might pull the saturation back on the green foliage. I think the parents will be happy with the series of photos I took.

Ozi, it is a a very good portrait, and as mentioned above your niece is stunning. However, try what Biggerry suggest to see if it improves the portrait - I think it does. What do you think?

Also, the girl appear to have two prominent colours in her front teeth so I would try to even out the colour. I have a friend and she is very conscious of how her front teeth appear on photographs.

Thanks Zaffs. I did think about PS-ing the teeth but decided to leave them as is for authenticity sake. I always run any portraits through Portrait Professional, but only sparingly.
