Damn, I missed this thread until kinda late. Any room left? I also fit into the 'rank amateur' category, so I'm eager to soak up some learning!

We now have 8 members registered for the workshop in including Matt and myself, what are we gonna to do? 6 is the limited.

Shoot two of 'em and throw them into the harbour.

Or either run two groups concurrently, or host a second group a couple of weeks later.

Two groups would be a good sugestion. otherwise just the first 6 that replied... maybe I should check where I am before suggesting this :)

Two groups? Or is the 6 limitation due to equipment limitations or teaching limitations? I have a tripod, some longer lenses, 70-200, 400, 1000, which may help.

I think 6 is just to keep the groups small so we can get more out of the day.

Yep... the idea was to keep the number small so that learning could be maximised... maybe the answer might be to hold a couple of these days... of course that would depend on available of equipment and gurus !!!

8 heads are manageable! But that's the limit!

Speaking as number 8, I'm obviously keen to be in on the fun, but if it's too large a group we can split it up into two. We'd probably get a couple of repeats into the second group and have the same problem keeping the numbers down!

I think 8 people are ok.

But Matt K & Birddog are the organisers so it is up to them.

Yeah, what's the official word on this meet? Do you all make our ways there or is there a meet before the meet? I would anticipate a shortage of parking around that area, carpool an idea?! Timeframe to start/end?

Would it be OK if we just dropped in for a little bit to say g'day and then left? We had planned to come up for the whole day, but now that we're giving in to lens lust (even if we can't make up our minds), dinner and an overnight in Sydney (well no point in going to dinner if you can't have a red) is a bit beyond the budget right now. We'd love to meet some of the members who've been so good to us, though.

HI All,
How's about the mini meet at my base in the morning at 8:00 am and we will discuss, how and where we're heading to in the afternoon?. train, bus, walk, creep, jump tatatatata!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

VR club will re-open at 4:00am as usual!

But no RED/ No booze this time, only soft drink and clear water same as coffee + green tea, cos we have to spare our energies for the afternoon.

Morning session will cover, CCD cleaning, check gears, test gears etc...
Light lunch provided.

Members who are not going to attend in the afternoon session are also welcome into the morning mini-meet.

Your thoughts

Hi all... I've only just picked up on this thread. Looks like I've left it too late, but very keen to join in if a space becomes available. I don't have a Pringles lid  but a nice 60mm D-series macro among others...

I had planned to meet up with Glen before hand to go over CCD cleaning anyway so I don't mind meeting at Birddog's if that is what the majority vote on.

I have acquired a very rare all day AND night leave pass from all family duties so I am up for anything :)

I will also be driving so if anyone wants a lift form the Hills area or throughout the day let me know as I would be happy to play driver for the day (can fit 4 others in the car).

Hopefully the weather holds out but I guess if we meet in one central place in the morning we can always adjust the plans as the day goes on.

Ok... looks like we are indeed on for the 8th (and a good thing as my wife's bday is the 9th). I'll certainly be there complete with pringles lid and jober as a sudge. Might not quite make the 4am start  ... hoping a late entry at 5am will be forgiven!!!
