EOI - Taronga Zoo Shoot?

Postby Trieu on Mon May 22, 2006 11:09 am

Hi Everyone... following Sir Tristram's amazing shots of the the tigers (which I now want to be able to do also) we were thinking of hitting the Zoo again.

Would anyone be interested in this?

Satuday :?: Sunday :?:

I think to get full use of the Zoo it would be a first thing in the morning start till the closing times... (comfy walking shoes) :)
Cheers,

What about next Sunday 28/5? If so I'm up for it as I'll be in Sydney for the mini meet Saturday and then for a show Saturday night (final performance of Dusty)

I've just recently been to the zoo, so I'm probably not up for it for a while (plus it is a pain to get out there from where I live!). Certainly not in the next few weeks anyway. About one organised event a weekend is about as much as I can handle right now, and I'm booked up for a couple of months :)

Minimeet this weekend, walkmeet next weekend......

Taronga Zoo is a big ripped off
Not a good place for outing or meeting.
Everything selling in that area is triple cost of what you can buy outside.

Very true Birdy - but the better looking ones are on the inside of the zoo, behind bars :D

Wait for summer time and you'll spot lot of them along George Street at lunch time or on Miller Street North Sydney
I can seat all day @ the cafe on Miller street and shoot with my 4 x 8Gb card full and still plenty of them around

F Y I
I just looked into the zoo friends caper also,
after finding out that defence passes allow for $5 admission.

zoo friends is $10 to join and around $70 a year.
If you went to the zoo twice @$30 you are worse off, but 3 or more and you are in front.
good for western plains zoo also.

I figure that for photo ops, 3 times per year isnt out of the question.
may be worth considering.

Admission pass is another story,
The inner section of food, cafe, lollies, cold drinks are the main things to pick pocket people.

If there's at least 12 of us and we book, we can get it for 24 for adults instead of 30.

Spend the remaining 6 on a bottle of... Powerade!

  Giraffe's aren't meat eaters are they? I would much rather be chucked in with the seals :)

I'll wait for a few more posts with suggestions of days and start putting together something more concrete.

12 ppl might be abit hard to muster up, but it would be well worth a try!

This Sunday is not looking good for me but if there are definite numbers, then I will put something together.

For myself, I would have to plan ahead about 3 weeks, as from the looks of it there are a few meets ahead of us.

How about June 10th (Saturday) :?: :?: :?:

Trieu

Sunday is now out for me too. 10th of June is bad though - that's the Queen's Birthday long weekend and I'm off to Mudgee to taste wine & take photos.

Well, if anyone wants to go randomly, I'm still good for it, even if I might be drunk from the night before.

There's also an Overclockers Australia Photography meet that afternoon around 4.30 at Milsons Point which I'm thinking of going to so we can always bounce between them essentially.
