Suggestions wanted for a Saturday night in Sydney

Postby rflower on Wed Jan 02, 2008 11:08 pm

My wife and I are coming to Wollongong for a wedding this Saturday (5/1/07). The Ceremony is in the morning, followed a reception from lunchtime - to late afternoon.

I am therefore after suggestions of what we could do after this (early evening and beyond).

I would be happy to either stay in Wollongong, or drive up to Sydney.
I would be happy to meet others from DSLRUsers if anyone wanted to do this.

I am open to any and all suggestions.

Thanks.

What time, Russell?

Anyone for an emergency Sydney micromeet ? :)

MY only concern would be that there's the opening of the Festival of Sydney on Satruday, with a whole raft of events (good) and a zillion other people (bad) will be there.

We will be finished at the reception around 4ish, so all things considered, I reckon we could be in the middle of Sydney by 7pm . maybe a little earlier.

I'm probably going to head out to Macquarie Street tonight to see the Spanish Harlem Orchestra as they're one of my favourite bands at the moment.

The problem for me - in the city tonight - is that with all of the events going on, parking will be difficult to impossible, and there will be squillions of drunks staggering around looking for the free entertainment.

The grumpy old man in me doesn't do crowds any more, so I'm happy to meet in Newtown, Glebe or Leichhardt (or parts east) for a meal, but I won't be venturing into the city.

We're meeting in Newtown for dinner, around 6:30-ish.

Call me on the mobile around then if you change your mind and want to join us.
