Sunrise Shoot - EOI

Postby Geoff on Fri Jul 31, 2009 11:25 pm

Hello Sydney people!
I've been thinking that it's time a sunrise/beach shoot was organised for our forum members.
I'm more than happy to get the ball rolling with this and am putting it out there well before I suggest we do it (i.e mid/late October).
A few things to consider; where/when/how many? I think a maximum group of approx 12 would be about right.

It depends on how much interest is shown here, but obviously for me I'd prefer a shoot on one of the Northern Beaches (they are the best anyway hehe). That said if the majority of people who vest interest here would prefer an Eastern Suburbs beach, followed by a walk (i.e Bronte to Bondi or something) and then a brekky then so be it! An Eastern Subs beach that comes instantly to mind is the Bronte Beach Baths, or on the Northern Beaches the North Narrabeen Pool.

To make it a more family orientated event we could get significant others/wife/partners/kids to join us well after sunrise for a social gathering/swim or whatever..

So, if you're keen, or even semi keen, add your names to this thread and your preference of which side of the bridge you'd prefer! No firm date as yet, but as said, mid/late October?

Bring it on!

As I will not be attending I will suggest a northern/southern beaches challenge.

Greg you have to wait for this global warming thing to progress a bit further. :D

The tides out. that's all

Seriously sunrise on the coast would be just too difficult.

How about on the same morning we have a mountains sunrise shoot as well for those of us who are geographically challenged for a beach?

Sounds good to me
For that matter we we could make it a global virtual meet. Organise a sunrise shoot in LOTS of places.
Same calendar day. Time = your local sunrise. Either a meet or just join in.

Damn now we need to find another location(s).

:agree:

1. Southern Beaches Sunrise Shoot

I could be wrong, but I'm not sure that was the suggestion.

I would have though that local meant "local to Sydney", and "local to Brissie", and "local to Melbourne", and so on. I don't think that we really want to have two competing beach sunrise shoots in any one major area. Rather, we should be trying to maximise attendances at each event.

Thus we have one sunrise beach shoot in Sydney, being either northern or southern beaches, but not both, along with a sunrise mountains shoot in Sydney ... and we have one sunrise beach shoot in Melbourne, along with a sunrise mountains shoot in Melbourne (Dandenongs, I'd presume).... and we have one sunrise beaches shoot in Adelaide, along with a sunrise hills shoot in the Adelaide Hills ... Each being held at the local sunrise time.

Sorry Gary, I stand corrected. An 'area' sunrise shoot is indeed what was suggested...one for each locale.

We need volunteers to organise the other 'branches'...

This will be a weekend shoot I presume?

Prefer Eastern but could cope with Northern as well....
