Picture Of The Week - May 2, 2006

Postby Nnnnsic on Tue May 02, 2006 2:24 pm

I'm up! I'm up!
(Don't anyone -- especially gstark, sirhc, birddog, glen and anyone else -- take that out of context.)

And this week, it's this beautiful shot which is so simple and yet so good from Gordon:

Image

I like it. A lot. And it's this week's Picture Of The Week. :)

It does, doesn't it?

Gordon, this is a wonderful image. It's one of those that I just keep looking at - the faintly lit surface of the moon is eerie, with a real sci-fi feel about it. Congratulations.

thanks all ;)

Opportunities for pics like that sometimes go with the job - if I take a few minutes to have a look at the sky in between observing, or in this case, in the middle of closing up the dome and stowing the scope. ;)

Gordon,
this is a beautiful photo and well deserving of photo of the week. I love staring at the moon when it is in this "there but not there" stage, and you have captured it beautifully.
