POTW 6 Jan 09

POTW 6 Jan 09

I'm fortunate enough to be choosing the first Picture of the Week for the year and if the images on display over the last week are any indication there are going to be some great shots shared here by both old and new hands over the coming months.

This week's image really stood out for me the moment I saw it. Both it and the companion shot in the original post stood out as well crafted and executed shots. The subject is unusual, it's extremely well lit and the end result is a fascinating image that rewards examination with new and subtle details. Congratulations Geoff.

One final thing. This image is also a great example of the adage that it's about great photographers, not great cameras. The image was shot on a Nikon D70s - not one of those new fangled fancy cameras

WOW, I am truly humbled and shocked that this image has been selected for POTW against, as always, some very worthy pictures. Thank you Stubbsy, glad you like it and thankyou for the kind words and comments.

Great shot Geoff and well deserved POTW.

How's life on the Mountain? I spent about 12 months with Lane Realty back in 2001.

Cheers
