POTW - 19th Jan 2011

Each week, one of the moderators or administrators selects an image that, for whatever reason, catches their eye. Please feel free to add your comments here. Vigorous discussion of the images and techniques is welcome and encouraged. Criticism of any mod for their choice is not. Please note that this is "Picture of the Week"; do not confuse that with "best picture of the week", which is a concept of which we have no understanding.

POTW - 19th Jan 2011

First, an apology for this being a little late

As much as I was tempted to choose a pic from this thread: http://www.dslrusers.com/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=40503, especially this one: http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk42/pixforsport/Wee%20Waa%20region/IMG_4734.jpg - I thought that may be a little ummm... self indugent? :nono: all those sheep!

The standout from the last week or so is from Stubbsy - I tried hard not to choose this, as I am sooooo jealous of what you guys were lucky enough to do and see, but I just had to come back to this thread -

Scary thing is I know these pics are by no means the best of the trip - looking forward to more!!!

The pic I have chosen is this one:

Thanks for selecting me. I have to be honest though and say this isn't my best shot from my Antarctic trip. Unfortunately the better images aren't yet ready for me to post them yet :(

Great shot there Peter, even if it's not your best, it's a bloody good shot :)

Congratulations.
