POTW August 28 2012

Postby Matt. K on Tue Aug 28, 2012 11:20 pm

This image blew me away when I first saw it. It has everything that I love about photography…..surprise, shape, colour, attitude, painterly, arty, classical but modern. I can see this as a modern piece hanging in MOMA….huge ornate gold frame, staring down at the pretty young things with cocktails in their hands…but then again, it could just as well hang in the old German renaissance section….it has that kind of presence. I love the creativity that put this image together…both from the model and the photographer. It is a very fine image and if there is a picture of the year for 2012 then this would surely be a contender. Bloody good work Michael!

A nice quirky image. I like the way the bottle of JD sneaks up on you since the face grabs the eye first with it's strong eye contact and brighter lighting. Congrats Michael and a good choice.

I can see that the photographer by making the subject
pose in this fashion is enhancing a lack of demure in
the character and a possibly a belligerent demeanour.
It is a certaily a challenge!
