POTW 5-Nov-2012

Each week, one of the moderators or administrators selects an image that, for whatever reason, catches their eye. Please feel free to add your comments here. Vigorous discussion of the images and techniques is welcome and encouraged. Criticism of any mod for their choice is not. POTW 5-Nov-2012

Postby Matt. K on Mon Nov 05, 2012 8:24 pm

Bloody hell! I get the most difficult week! So many brilliant images how do I choose one? First of all....The sculpture by the sea night shot series are all brilliant! Big Gerry and Rodney produced some absolute stunning imagery and it was a no brainer that the winner would be from that shoot...but which one? Eventually, I settled for Rodneys beautiful image of the dome because it had an extra dimension for me....the forground/background illusion. Don't know what I'm talking about? Just keep staring at the image.
Well done guys and well deserved Rodney.

Great image and choice.

Having seen the photography of Rodney and Gerry over the last few years (as two of the most frequent posters on this forum), their improvements add weight to the adage that it takes 10,000 hours of experience to become an expert at something. Whilst there was nothing wrong with their earlier images, where they are today shows an immence improvement both in technique and artistic interpretation.

[no condescention to Rodney or Gerry and offence to anyone else intended]
