POTW 18th February 2014 - Selection by Ozimax

Each week, one of the moderators or administrators selects an image that, for whatever reason, catches their eye. Please feel free to add your comments here. Vigorous discussion of the images and techniques is welcome and encouraged. Criticism of any mod for their choice is not. Please note that this is "Picture of the Week"; do not confuse that with "best picture of the week", which is a concept of which we have no understanding.

This Weeks Selection is by Ozimax

It seems that there has been an increase in images posted over the last week or so. There are some beauties for sure. Geoff's UK odyssey has been excellent, but I can't get a 4th consecutive POTW for Geoff. (I don't think he will mind.:))

Some things are just plain difficult to photograph; kids, dogs, dragonflies...and wasps. Technically maybe the wasp is not as difficult to capture as a dragonfly, but the little blighters can be dangerous when they're disturbed. (As I mentioned in the original post discussion, I got stung by one some years ago, just below the eye!)

Congrats Chris on POTW. I selected the above photo, but not for any particular reason. They're all good, especially up close. BTW, the E-M1 holds it's own against most, and is not disgraced when compared to the D800.

Ozi.

Damn fine selection Ozi and cracking image Chris.

I found a can of degreaser and cigarette lighter sorts them out (albeit leaving a few marks on the wall)
