POTW 25th March 2014 - Selection by Geoff (Geoff M)

Each week, one of the moderators or administrators selects an image that, for whatever reason, catches their eye. Please feel free to add your comments here. Vigorous discussion of the images and techniques is welcome and encouraged. Criticism of any mod for their choice is not. Please note that this is "Picture of the Week"; do not confuse that with "best picture of the week", which is a concept of which we have no understanding.

POTW 25th March 2014 - Selection by Geoff (Geoff M)

Postby biggerry on Tue Mar 25, 2014 9:58 am

This weeks POTW on DSLRUsers is proudly brought to you by Geoff M, nicely done and thanks for taking the time to review and select.

For me, selecting an image for POTW has been a fairly easy choice despite a buoyant number of images being posted. I have enjoyed Sirch55's postings of eggs in various 'poses' but the accolade of POTW goes to Rooz for the second image in his thread 'Tough Guys' viewtopic.php?f=18&t=44272

Both images I feel are worthy and I did jump from one to the other but in the end the second won me over. I love the perspective, the perceived attitude of the gull, the framing, the processing and I even like the title "Tough Guys" which is so apt. Well done Chris

No amount of processing will fix bad composition - trust me i have tried.

Totally agree with POTW. The second image certainly portrayed the tough guy persona that the title suggested! Great choice and well done.

That's one mean looking chicken! But a B&W image with a difference. Well deserves and congrats to Chris. Enjoy the Olly. :D :D :D

Funny image Chris. Well done POTW. Would be interesting to do a caption competition for this one. "What are you looking at?" Good choice Geoff.
