PotW 15 April 2014

Each week, one of the moderators or administrators selects an image that, for whatever reason, catches their eye. Please feel free to add your comments here. Vigorous discussion of the images and techniques is welcome and encouraged. Criticism of any mod for their choice is not. Please note that this is "Picture of the Week"; do not confuse that with "best picture of the week", which is a concept of which we have no understanding.

PotW 15 April 2014

Postby the foto fanatic on Tue Apr 15, 2014 9:39 am

Contenders seemed a bit light on this time around - let's hope the upcoming holidays see a few more photographers using their gear and posting some images.

This week's PotW had immediate appeal and brought forth a number of positive comments. There are also a couple of suggestions for improvement that I think are quite valid.
The image was posted by biggerry and that post can be seen here.

The colours are vibrant and the contrast of the ferns to the rocks, stream and forest make for an outstanding landscape image.
I agree with those who have said the water in motion at the bottom of the image is a tad distracting but I think that could be remedied fairly easily.

Congratulations to Gerry.

Here is the photograph:

Congrats Gerry, well deserved!

With the light competition maybe I should post something and see what happens...

Make sure the proceeds are declared on the register of pecuniary interests, or you may be in big trouble with the POTW heirarchy. :)

As for the photograph, it's sensational. The red leaves complete the scene. Congrats on POTW.
