PotW April 22 2014

After an absence from the forum, PiroStitch has returned, and he's posted one image in particular that has caught my eye.

And my brain: there is something about this image which is almost haunting me; in some ways it's a bit disturbing, but in other ways I think it's a wonderful portrait, and a wonderful example of street photography.

Image

I'm wonderuing if a tad more sharpening might add some extra edge to this image, but it's already quite edgy as it is.

The original thread lives here.

I liked the set, but the expression of the subject is what I liked most. Congratulations to the photographer and the selector for a good choice.

Congrats Piro. Have to agree with Mssr Stark; it is a haunting image, even depressing, but it's a good one. Well done.

Wow! That's such a nice surprise. Thanks everyone and Gary for picking it.

There is a massive ageing population in Hong Kong. The stories these people could tell would be something since they've practically seen it all especially during WWII. The unfortunate side also is that most don't get the support they need particularly health care.
