POTW 5-Apr-2016

Each week, one of the moderators or administrators selects an image that, for whatever reason, catches their eye. Please feel free to add your comments here. Vigorous discussion of the images and techniques is welcome and encouraged. Criticism of any mod for their choice is not. Please note that this is "Picture of the Week"; do not confuse that with "best picture of the week", which is a concept of which we have no understanding.

POTW 5-Apr-2016

Postby Matt. K on Tue Apr 05, 2016 7:21 pm

Choosing a winner this week was quite difficult with some excellent pics being put up.....some great surfing shots and some good street photography. I chose this image because it has atmosphere....a feeling of space and time....a lonely image that makes you look around. This is our civilization....it is how we live and it is what we have built. Human endeavor on the planet Earth. In some ways it's a little bit scary, reinforced by the monotones and lack of living creatures. These is much to like about this picture. Well done Chris!

Thank you for your words Matt. We need more people to post pics and I am doing that to try and prompt more people to do so.

Congratulations! The picture has certainly atmosphere and mood in it. Matt, you are quite right the scene looks a bit like those abandoned villages in films.
