Next meet?

Postby MHD on Wed Jan 12, 2005 2:01 pm

Great to see the first Canberra Mini meet went well!

So when and what next?

Botanic gardens is one of my favorite haunts and I have the next two weekends fairly open (and the the mini meet at Birddogs on the 29th)

Anyone keen?

same wavelength

Postby christiand on Wed Jan 12, 2005 8:52 pm

Hi,

I'm on the same wavelenth, Botannical Gardens are great.
I also think that several Tidbinbilla walks are great.
I might have my D70 back in time.
It is with Maxwell but due to a back log they haven't even looked at it.
I asked to get it back as it is (only the onboard flash isn't fireing, big deal)
asap .
If my D70 doesn't get back in time, I could bring my new toy, the 70-200mm 2.8 VR if anyone is interested.
If the weekend turns out to be a scorcher, Botannical Gardens is probably
a more tolerable place than Tidbinbilla.

Cheers

The back log at Maxwell is due on the Holiday Season and lack of part coming from O/S as far as I know.

have a look at this, no D70 around to use this lens.

BTH Tidbinbilla is on its way back. You know it is the Australian flora
two years after a devastating fire.
Some corners haven't been destroyed.
Other parts are coming back, it just looks so very different.
That is probably worthwhile taking pictures of.
I call them fuzzy trees and they are unique.

ETA on cam

Postby christiand on Thu Jan 13, 2005 10:41 pm

there was no ETA on cam.
The story of 11/01/05 is that there is only one technician at Maxwells due to holiday season and they were getting a lot of repairs each day.
I put my D70 in for repair through Domayne on the 2/01/05.
Maxwell havent looked at it yet so I asked yesterday (12/01/05) to have it returned unrepaired.
I guess I just hit a bad time slot for repairs.
