Australian War Memorial Open Day

Open Day
10 March 2007
10 am - 5 pm

The Memorial Open Day is a free and exciting family event that highlights Australian military history and the links with our servicemen and women. The day has an action-packed program to help you rediscover your nation’s heritage in Australia ’s most-visited cultural attraction.

The Opening Spectacular at 11 am will include,

* A Red Beret Parachute drop with smoke and ANF
* Helicopter formation flypast of a Sea King and two squirrels, with short hover display over the Memorial
* ADFA Precision Drill Team performance
* With a finale of helicopter landings – they will land and remain in position for static display for the rest of the day

There will be an air show starting at 1 pm featuring historical aircraft including an FA-18, C130 Hercules, C47, Catalina, Mustang and more. You will also see a special display of unique military technology vehicles and other items from the Memorial’s collection.

I gather no one else is going to this?

I will probably be over there from 10:30am, if anyone is interested in meeting?

Anyone? :)

Tristan, I'll be there.

I wouldn't be surprised to bump into Christian - he's normally about at these things.

I dunno exactly what time I'll arrive, so it might be best to do an ad-hoc thing - you have a PM with my mobile #.

Failing that, look for the D2H with the 80-400 pointed skyward :D

ohhhh ... :o

completely missed that one
However unforseen circumstances also kept me away. BTW, hardley normal is doing standard size prints for 13cents @ the moment (200 max per person).

Regards,
Christian
