Off camera Flash cord

Postby robert on Mon Feb 18, 2008 10:07 am

The OC-E3 looks to be around $70 and a no name cord is still around $50. Surely there must be some other options at a lower price??

Any one come across one for lower than this??

I wish I'd got mine for $70. And I've now used it a whole twice...

Nope unless you go for pc-sync cord or wireless and sacrifice TTL. At least Nikon have two variants and the lengths and build quality are much better...*sigh*

I've been looking at the same thing on Ebay. Comparing original with after-market.
It's a shame these products aren't offered through the forum.

Cheers,
Warwick

I got the OC-E3 from somewhere - I think it was ebay.
I find myself using it almost every shoot. (even if I look like a goose holding my flash out :) )

I wouldn't get the OC-E2 or E1 - the foot isn't durable enough and it will probably break if you use it on a bracket / use it alot.

To keep in mind: I picked up an ST-E2 from an electronics store in West Oz (imported from Honkers) for $117 (or was it $170?), much much cheaper than the oz rrp of over $400.

I pretty much use it all the time now.

The price of accessories here is ridiculous.. I know it's been done a hundred times before, but I bought the OC-E3 cord for AU $21 in HK. Can't believe they're charging $70 here!!!

I found that even on eBay they were pricey. Essential, but pricey. I use mine probably half the time I use the flash. Wouldn't be without it.
