Is this an IR hotspot??

Postby robert on Tue Mar 25, 2008 11:11 pm

I was taking some shots to stitch together and noticed in a few of them the centre was more "colourful". The images were taken down near Perisher looking towards Kosy- with a 400D and 18-55 IS, and Hoya R72. I took a test image and after exposure looked ok used that as the custom white balance. The only PP is levels. Notice the exaggerated colour in the middle, esp on the third one,

Any thoughts or is this just the way the scene presented?

Just on this lens- I did some backyard testing - shooting the phone book, grassy scene etc, and this lens is sharper and more contrasty than my 50mm 1.8, 24mm 2.8 and 28mm 2.8. (at f8) All for less than $200. A good travel/kit lens in my opinion, with IS a real bonus.
