Tokina AT-X 107 AF DX NH FISHEYE

Postby aim54x on Mon Oct 29, 2012 9:16 am

This one slipped under the radar...I know a few of us use the Tokina AT-X 107 Fisheye (aka 10-17mm Fisheye) but it now appears that there is a variant sans hood. From what I have gleaned from the website it is a factory removal of the hood. I have emailed Tokina and a local repairer that I have worked with to see if it is possible to get a conversion done (ie get parts and change them over). I have my fingers crossed because if it is possible this lens gets a new lease on life as a FX semi-circular fisheye with slightly more than 180 deg FOV.

Lens shaving has been talked about for a long time, but I have never been keen to butcher my lens....
