As do I - I got inspired by your results the other day and so I went out shooting some street in the city again yesterday at lunch (it's been many many months). Fortuitous timing since one of my workmates brought his 35/2 in for me to borrow and try. (I have no wides now after upgrading to FX - my 50/1.4 is my widest lens :)).

Chris, from what you and Matt have been posting recently, I can see a new generation of high quality street photography that doesn't require a red dot and thousands of dollars invested in glass.

forgiven :)

With the first - I don't know whats to the right of the image but I think I would have preferred the shot angled more that way (so minus the coke signs, the guy more on the left of frame and something? on the right)

yes, it was the big issue. I bought it and bought him a #9 salad from saladworks. Thai chicken, bloody good, (gotta add crispy fried noodles aswell though !!). I hope he enjoyed it afterwards.

Gee that's an image that is thought provoking. How can we have people living on the streets like that in a developed country such as this.

It is a good question for which there is no simple answer. There will be parts of society who will say it is all of their own making and others that will say it is the blame of the system, lack of mental health programs, lack of employment services for the long term unemployed, etc.

That homeless man in the US who was given the boots by the policeman had, apparently become bankrupt and then was living in homeless shelters.

I realise their are many a reason for people living like this, some even choose to live like it while others have no choice. It can be a result of circumstance, financial hardship etc, the list of reasons, I am sure, would be endless and often surprising. People from all walks of life can end up this way, I sure hope that I will never have the misfortune to be in that position.

It's funny but so true - I also look forward to those nice overcast days when shooting street in the city - in fact I now want some rainy days (not when I'm shooting but ideally earlier on in the day so the pavement is all wet) :)

I'm not such a fan of the one before - Dream Lady - perhaps if she was in a long flowing white dress being backlit or something?
