I'm in Love Canon 50mm F1.4

With everyone getting new bodies, I think that separate section for you to proudly display your first image from your new acquisition is in order.

This applies to brand new bodies, as well as bodies that are simply newly acquired by you.

I'm in Love Canon 50mm F1.4

Postby Chaase on Thu Sep 04, 2008 10:46 pm

Just picked up the lens (as well as a 28-135 IS) from Photobuff on the way home this evening.

Image

Photo taken at 5.30PM with very minimal light coming in thru window (side window 1.5M away from subject facing due north), no room light on, no flash.

Image

Taken under compact fluorescent light with bounce flash from ceiling. B&W mode set on camera (was playing around, dog does not complain about being photographed unlike the rest of the family)

I love this lens, it is bloody amazing, cant wait to try it in daylight.

Woah - that's amazingly sharp!! I've only had my 50mm f1.8 for a little over a month now, but after seeing these I think that an f1.4 may have to join my little family :)

yeah i upgraded from the 1.8 to 1.4 and, while the 1.8 is a fantastic lens, the 1.4 leaves it for dead in terms of sharpness and contrast. USM is handy as well if you are shooting in very dark places like music performances.

1.4 is the best :) I held out for so long but I'm glad I have it now.

Enjoy the beauty :D

Great lens, even better images here Chaase. My new 50mm F1.4 is attached to my camera but unfortunately I am in NZ at the moment and it is raining EVERY day. In fact, i have seen 3-4 hours sunshine in the last 4 weeks, total. Oh well, back to Oz later in the month and then more 50mm photos!
