oh! so that's how.
I always put my toothbrush in the charger with much amazement. Seeing as there is no conductor contact... Often lifting the charger to stick my finger through it, and putting the toothbrush on and off. It's amazing!

just wear some medevial metal mesh clothing or aluminium foil. :lol: BTW I have noticed that some americans say aluminum :shock:

It does remind me of when I was a little fella listening to the wireless. Not only did the "wireless" contain many wires, it was tethered to the wall with wires to provide it with power, not to mention the wire for the antenna.

It is a resonant effect between the 'charge plate' and the coil wiring inside those devices. We did try something like this in our lab and able to get a very small amount of energy off a wireless emitting device inside a room. Many others are developing this thecnology as well, after they fix up the interference with other devices/human, you will not need to bring a charger at all for your mobile devices. A room fitting with this 'power emitter' will allow you to use your laptop, phone, PDA or whatever without even worrying about battery. :P

jeez, bit funny the apple fanboys aren't jumping up and down saying apple invented this first, i guess MS will have to steal the idea before they crawl out from under their rocks :P

i believe this is very different in thinking to previous ideas of transmitting power in that its using a magnetic field, thus doesn't affect humans at all the way radio waves do
or like the US army's testing of microwave point to point power transmission that fries everything in the line of sight.

i wouldn't think it would take too long for them to figure out how to tune the receiver part of this device to the earths magnetic resonance and generate free power.
Unless of course the idea gets bought out and buried.

Talking about 'green power', if they can actually use Earth's magnetism to generate electricity and make it public then commercialised, we should start laughing at Energy Australia while we can... :lol:

You cannot use a static magnetic field as an energy source without exhausting it.

On the other hand, electromagnetic fields are great at transporting energy. Most of the energy stored in the Earth has been sent to it via electromagnetism from the sun.

Australia should start exploiting geothermal energy, which we are blessed with in abundance. This could turn out as cheap as coal and last us a hundred years.
