				Helloa
As I've not participated in these before can you tell me how I vote?
I.e. How many votes do I have?
Can I vote for myself?

Cheers
Matt

site is down... read the Gallery open thread...
Yes you can vote for yourself (think of it as a bonus poijnt for entereing... I suggest contestants give them selves full marks)... You can give each image a score... not voting for a particular image does not invalidate your vote but it is recommended you give each image a score as your vote DOES count as the differences between places comes down to very small marks!!

Hello there, I think I might be missing something but how does one actually vote?
I cant see any "Click here to vote" links. I think I might be a wee bit simple.

				How to vote:
1: Go to
http://potofgrass.ath.cx/gallery/challenge3/
2:click logon
3: enter username and password from me
4: You have two ways to vote:
4a: Click on image to view medium, select a score (equivelent to 1-10) and once score is selected it is counted
4b: On the thumbnail view page select scores for all on the page and press VOTE for your votes to be counted, you must do this once per page (ie click VOTE before going to the next page)
You can change your vote! My procedure is to go give rough scores first and then at my leasure scrutise closer and change accordingly

Awesome... Site is definitely up and stable now..
Voting is proceeding well!
each image has at least 10 votes and only ~1 point separates 1st and 5th!
Now that things are running smoothly I will restate that the cut off time will be 10pm tomorrow night!
Winner will be announced Friday night at Melbourne meet dinner and shortly afterwards on the forums and potofgrass
Not meaning to diminish the excellent entries in the past comps but this comp has raised the bar somewhat!

Sorry to rain on your parade, but I've been trying since about 11:00 am on and off with no success. Just tried now at 12:17 and still get "Cannot find server or DNS error"
Edit: But I can successfully ping 150.203.236.6

restarted my router. no joy. My ISP is netspace. I have an aweful feeling that DNS records are resolved at the ISP. In which case I need to wait until they get fixed at netspace (which is a time based process I think)

DNS records at ISPs usually get updated in a 24 hour time period, Stubbsy.

Stubbsy just stick the address in the address block up top and it will go there. Dont worry about using pot of grass/etc
150.203.236.6
Is the address I just stuck in with nothing else and ended up on the front page of Scott's (MHD) website. Hope this helps or maybe I misunderstood the problem.

How hard is it to separate some of the great images in this comp? No matter how it pans out - well done to all who put an entry in. There are alot of well thought out and well captured images in this lot.
The theme was a bit mean but I love the variety of ways it has been inturpreted. Every entry is a winner in my books.

Oneputt, you probably have a dns which hasn't been updated.
try copying this 150.203.236.6 into your address bar, should get you to the front page of Scotts website

				I must be a dummy

but I have given up trying to vote. There has to be an easier way to do this, and when this challenge is over I will suggest a way whcih has worked on another forum.

Ditto (although I had to remember to login from the D70 gallery's page, and not the challenge.
Also, I'd like to thank MHD for all the effort he has been to - given the systems issues he has been facing (as well as his patience with me setting up my account/password etc etc)!

Yes please don't get the wrong idea I know a lot of work has gone in to setting this up and it is certainly appreciated. However I run a similar comp on another non photographic forum and there is a very easy way to do it. If some one is interested they can PM me their email address and I will tell how. It will cut down on the amount of work.
