The results of boredom - photoshop!!

Well, hmm, what to say about these?
I am off work for two days so have been rather bored. I shot some more self portraits and decided to try putting them into some sort of 'advertising' context.
I don't think many people will like them, but would appreciate C&C on them.

these are exceptionally good and show you really have got this thing right. I'd ditch the PP'd in light flare though - it doersn't look real and adds nothing to the image. The colour treatment is spot on as is the font - gives a grungy sort of feel. Get bored more often.

I agree the lighting, presentation, font and advertising lingo are great, but the lens flare not so good!

i really like these shots.. well done.

i'd get rid of the lens flare and perhaps put make up a jeans or mens aftershave logo and put it there with an opacity of around 60%.

in the second shot i'd possibly do a little cloning and try and get rid of the slight reflection in the right hand lens of the glasses... but that's being picky

nicely done... your portrait work is excellent.

I know others have said that they don't like the lens flare, but I think that it works, maybe would work better if the central point was actually not in shot though, or you were able to show an object that was greating the light source.
Love the images, well done.

I don't like the lens flare because it doesn't belong. The shot doesn't look like it's outdoors so where is this light coming from?
The bird needs more light. It's a err..dominant part of the image, your eye goes straight to it and it's almost completely in shadow. Turn on the light switch! Needs just a touch more front and side lighting.
The feel of these is excellent and very well done.

So it appears the lens flare is contentious. I ummed and ahhed about it in photoshop but decided to keep it in. I'll try some others perhaps without it.

I mean, they are just a bit of fun - it's pretty much an adaptation of a series of shots I saw with HEAVY lens flare in a magazine. Thanks again guys/

The lighting is gorgeous, awesome contrast across the image - tho I'm thinking deliberate vignetting of the frame might add further impact to this strong contrasty look.

Spartikus, the lighting set up was my trademark uber simplicity. SB600 firing through a homemade softbox at 45 degrees to the camera. large white reflector left of camera to reflect back some light.
