Hi Darb,

for me #2 works better composition wise then #1

#1 while centred seems too tight (you cropping off bits of the tree)

#2 while still cropping gives the eye some negative space to roam on the right which I find helps the shot, although maybe a crop or clone of the little bit of tree on the far right could further improve the shot.

Darb has more fun than all of us put together - and he can make his camera talk. #2 for me also.

Definately #2 for me... Being a picky sod, I'd clone out the bits of the tree intruding into the left hand side of the frame to make it a lone tree, it has great misty, foggy atmosphere...

You must be having a ball mate!

hey guys thaks for the comments n tips

the more pinkish of the two was a little exxagerated white balance ... but the lesser "coloured" one is almost true to the eye at the time ... the whole mountain is lit up at night for skiing (largest night lit skiing area in the world) ... and i guess more of the red spectrum gets through the fog / cloud / snow thats around in the air.

Might take a few more of the tree and think more carefully about composition ... granted i took those shots when it was -20c (-35 windchill, VERY friggin cold !! ) ... and snowing, so i pretty much took the shots quickly and went back inside.

cold temps seem good for CCD noise midn you ... its just the fingers that start to give in !
