Are my hands really steady?

This picture was taken handheld standing on a rock in the middle of the creek with a 4 second shutter time. Is it normal to be able to do this? The picture is reasonably sharp (you can tell it isn't sitting on a tripod, but it's still pretty sharp).

Also feel free to critique this image, and comments on if it's normal to handhold for 4 secs and still get a passable image.

My technique: I breathe in really deep and then breathe out completely relaxing my arms and collapsing them into my sides. Then I breathe in deep again while maintaining relaxed arms. Having legs spread a little helps as well.

Yep, looks like you've got VR built into your arms. 8)

I can usually manage with fractions of a second or maybe a full second, but for four seconds.... you truly are a legend!

The stationary objects, like the bridge, are quite soft, however for a 4 second shot it is amazing. Nice work.

Woooo Slow down there Chris.

The fabled 8 seconds requires a lot of mental training. Let's see who can get the steadies 8 second shot (sneaks out with my VR lens...)

Dooda, it is amazing that you can stay still for that long.

I guess that you don't smoke or drink much and are not suffering from stress. :)

You could use the same technique for shooting a rifle too. I bet you would be quite a sharpshooter.

To get it really sharp you have to stop breathing for four minutes. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
