I thought I'd put up an old shot of a commonly photographed area. your critique is appreciated.

I love it.

There is something that is almost comical in the way that the seat has three bases, but there is just the one man sitting on it, taking up all of the available space. It amost makes him look as if he has three legs.

And not simply well spotted, and well captured, but also well exposed. You have managed to control the harsh afternoon sun, never an easy task.

very cleverly done and a great eye to see it.
i'm not smart enuf to see a shot like that, i would've walked right past it.

This was a case of having A CAMERA on me at the right time. [in this case LX3]. It was not practical to carry anything else. I think it illustrates the point that "The best camera is the one that you are carrying right now"

I wanted to take a few different angles but, he walked away once I had shot this!!

Thanks all for your comments. I was tempted to try and replace the distant sky, but thought it doesn't detract too much from the overall look so left it.

Looks like we both saw the potential of the scene.....spooky!

I walk around the Opera house almost every week, and didn't even notice the seats were '3 legged'. I have to check them out again today.

I thought you know the guy and he posted for the shot. Did he know you were taking picture of him? I always afraid of shooting the general public this close.

Matt, That is a grat capture! Shows what happens when you change the focal length on the same scene. Thanks for posting.

Patrick, He certainly didn't know I was shooting him! I had the advantage of him not having eyes on the back of head and having a small point and shoot camera. Because it's a fairly wideangle sort of shot, it may have looked like I was shooting the scenery....

Oh how I wish I had 'models' crowding around me so that I can pose them. Not even my own family and friends agree to most my shots.
