Self portrait

Self portraits are really confronting, especially when you have a face like mine, tailor-made for radio! :rotfl2:

Anyway, here's an off the cuff portrait from this morning. Actually I had no intention of photographing as I was busy doing a live zoom meeting, but after that was finished I thought I'd fire off a few shots seeing I had the room all set up. Single LED (5600K) through small softbox. Fuji X-s10 + 10-24 F4 super wide angle lens. It's not known as a portrait lens but it's what I was using at the time. Anyway here's the shot, processed with a tiny bit of influence from Portrait Pro/PS CC.

And here's one of my second son, who was helping me set up last night for this morning's video sessions:

You're looking very John Clarke-ish.

Excellent work here. Lighting is pretty much nailed, as is wb.

Perhaps move the light source a little mopre towards the front, or throw in a reflector, to fill out the shadows on the LH side of the face?

The dark background works very well, wit6h nice separation between the background and the subject.

As you said, shame about the subject matter. :)

Very good portraits, both of them.

Yes and yes. I’ve often been likened to Clarke, and Darren Lehman (Oz cricket coach). Oh and Tom Cruise, Cary Grant, Arnold Schwarzenegger. And Dumbo … :biglaugh:
