Norway (2019)

Got a thin skin? Then look elsewhere. Post a link to an image that you've made, and invite others to offer their critiques. Honesty is encouraged, but please be positive in your constructive criticism. Flaming and just plain nastiness will not be tolerated. Please note that this is not an area for you to showcase your images, nor is this a place for you to show-off where you have been. This is an area for you to post images so that you may share with us a technique that you have mastered, or are trying to master. Typically, no more than about four images should be posted in any one post or thread, and the maximum size of any side of any image should not exceed 950 px.

Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

Norway (2019)

I took this picture in Norway in 2019. It's the first time and it will possibly be the last I ever traveled that far north. We disembarked at Kirkenes, very close to the Russian border, and traveled by land to another port to catch the boat on the way back south. This bus trip along narrow and winding roads allowed us to admire the northern grass vegetation and see the fjords from another perspective. I hope you like it.

I would have liked this more with a higher point of view, so that there could be a view of the lake that's not partially obscured by those foreground plants.

Just one man's opinion.

Will we ever get to travel overseas again? I have many places to visit but I'm not game to book at the moment with the current batch of leaders that we have. They change the rules with a hair trigger and I don't want to get stranded overseas, homeless and broke!!

Sorry I only had time to take two photos. This is the second or vice versa. I remember walking through the vegetation and there wasn't much high ground where we stopped.

I know what you mean. I have been spending the "credit money" we had from last year holidays abroad in Australia and with great difficulty because of the border restrictions and the airlines flight cancellations. Our flights to the red center had six flights cancellations and we had to pay new flights and get refunded for the cancellations. We were traveling to Melbourne for my birthday and had 3 flight cancellations, so we gave up and asked for refunds; in the end, I was pleased we didn't go because of the situation there. Next year we are traveling in OZ, but it is practically all booked now for 2022; the Indian Pacific and the Ghant were sold withing hours of opening for booking. Australia is an expensive country. Tour operators, airlines, hotels and governments are screaming 'support our local business', but they haven't been making it easy.
