Bodgurri (Boab)
Posted: Sun May 25, 2025 11:08 amThis tree is in Careening Bay on Coronation Island, where King (Phillip Parker King was an early explorer of the Australian) careened his cutter, HMS Mermaid, to make repairs in 1820. The ship's carpenter engraved the name of the ship on a Boab tree, and it is still visible. Nowadays, Careening Bay is within the Prince Regent National Park and a permit is required to visit the site.
