Callout for subjects in intimate and emotional portraits

Hello All,

I am making a callout to find subjects who are willing to be part of a series of intimate
and emotional portrait photographs.

The theme is quite personal and may be too much for some, but please bear with me
while I explain further.

Many of us have experienced the passing of a loved one, and the profound impact it
has on all who were close to them. Even after many years, there are memories you
have and cherish, sentimental items that you dare not throw out; and emotions that
flow whenever you visit a certain location.

I would like to capture these very personal moments, and show the strong bond you
still have with those that have passed on. I will encourage the incorporation of any
objects, places and photographs that you hold close and dear to you.

My intention is to present these images in an exhibition during May 2012.

If you are interested please message or call me for further details.

If you know someone who may want to participate, please share my information on
to them.

Thank you,

Fahad Mian

You can tell how sensitively this will be handled and how much care, concern and attention will be paid to the participants by the way the photographer has so deeply contributed to the community at DSLRUsers and has really made a positive impact on everyone.

Their selfless attitude is so inspiring.

How about we draw Fahad's attention to the forum rules about putting a valid location in his profile and give him a chance to redeem himself?

This is a touchy subject he is raising, and I'm sure he would recognise that not many people are likely to volunteer for such a personal and possibly painful encounter in the presence of a complete stranger, and have the results on display at an exhibition somewhere. Perhaps even more so with a complete stranger of unknown photographic abilities...

Over to you Fahad.

Michael

Apologies for not having posted/contributed here before (I browse to find out when markets and exhibitions are on).

I live in Sydney, but would like to do these shoots at the subjects location so as not to disconnect them from the emotion.

Hopefully I can find enough subjects within the area, and won't have to travel too far.

I only recently received an official invite to participate in this exhibition, with only a little over 2 months to complete it.
The exhibition, I have been told, will be a part of Head On this year.
The theme is to produce images/works that have taken inspiration from the words of a song. Song choice is up to the individual artists.

I rushed last night and made the call out on Gumtree, Craigslist, Facebook, Whirlpool, and this site.

So far I my work has consisted of fine art style photography, mainly street shooting, not that much portraiture I must admit. I have a preference for shooting on 35mm film, but some of my work is also done with digital cameras.

And here is a youtube video so you can see me, and what I keep in my camera bag. If that makes anyone feel more comfortable.

Thanks for replying so quick, and giving me the chance to clear the air.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
