That's because it's been designed specifically for use on a pocket-based device so instead of having to zoom in and out looking at columns, it's all a one-column design that you can just keep scrolling down to read.

I've said it privately to Leigh, but want to now thank him publicly for all the work he's put into this. It's not just a matter of pulling in the contributions from each of us - he has taken his job of editor very seriously, and has ensured each of the articles read well, and fit with the overall magazine - he's also had to do more than his fair share of chasing

It should also be noted that the Pocket PC version contains a few more pictures than the main version - so you actually get more content, not just more pages

You actually get a little bit less content in the Pocket Chimp.

While I'd love to include things like the Events pictures, it'd just fatten the file up and I was always looking to keep the filesizes down. You also don't get the "arteFacts" section which is a recapping of photo news.

I am pleased the full fat version is the PC version, not all of us can afford Jamjars

It's also designed for the lesser JasJar. I tested it on an Acer that runs at I think a 240x320 resolution and it rendered brilliantly.

The Pocket Chimp is also good for people on non-pocketable devices who like really, really big text and somewhat pixelated images.

Congratulations on the 1st edition, you have set a high benchmark for your future editions. The layout and content are excellent and are a credit to the knowledge and expertise of the people involved.

This magazine will continue to grow, and I hope it brings all the people involved the highest level of satisfaction.

As for Blame Brett, all I can say is that the readers of this magazine have not heard this for the last time, more on that at another time.

Damm good. Its definately my page layout program of choice. I have used Quark for years and now detest Quark. You will find it brilliant in its ability to interact with Photoshop and illustrator. It also has some neat shadowing on all text elements and the ability to outline text and add images to text etc.
All in all one mother of a program.

Jethro - I have been using this program since it first appeared and I agree that it is one muther of a great program

Chris, you have to admit the early versions were total shit and at that point I honestly must say I wrote it off. Pagemaker was the predecessor and when Indesign first hit the deck I thought to myself Ah shit not a souped up pagemaker again. it originally felt like pagemaker.
But CS1 and now CS2, well what a change in fortune and well Quark as you probably appreciate will never match the combo of tricks that Indesign will do.

Yes mate, sad sad. I leave for the Motherland in a matter of weeks. So as you lucky souls bask in the sun and enjoy the rising temperatures I shall be enjoying an English winter!!
But, the English arm of DSLRUsers will soon be a force to be reckoned with.
