I'm very pleased today - was well as just having turned two years old, this morning we also hit 2000 members!
And that's because you, our members, have contributed over 237000 mostly meaningful posts in those two years.
Not to mention the great images, the photomeets, the dinners, and the great friendships that have started through this resource.
Every single one of you needs to stand up and take a bow. But not all at once: you'll probably capsize the boat. Those who were present at Saturday's dinner would have heard me make an important announcement. I've not yet made any public references to this, but we have been, behind the scenes, working on the production of our very own eZine, which we expect to have available within about a month or so.
It's going to be called Chimp, and the first issue's cover might just look something like ...
And by now most of you will be aware that the D80 have been officially announced, together with two new lenses, those being an 18-135 DX, and the long rumoured 70-300 VRII.g.Gary Stark
 Nikon, Canon, Bronica .... stuff

Great looking magazine, is Chimp the name of the magazine or a description of the cover? I have been looking forward to this since it was first mentioned.

No, each issue has a piece of a D200 for you to assemble, issue 1 has the shutter button. By the time you get the last piece, you should have a fully working antique camera. __________Phillip

Yi-p. Each issue will have very different and unique stories and images relating to digital photography with a digital SLR. It may have product reviews, a trip that one of our members has done with their camera and other things like software and how to utilise it etc. There's a fair bit of behind the scenes stuff on this and it will all come together in time.
I imagine this e-zine will be available for download or emailed out on a distribution list. These things are still being finalised.

October, Patrick. Late September at the earliest.
That said, I'm covering a couple of things, one of which is a massive RAW converter comparison for Windows users (we'll likely tackle other OS's in subsequent issues) but since we're targetting a quarterly release, we will need stories further down the track so if you've got an idea, PM me.
We'll also be doing profiles on photographers so keep posting those images, people!

I am constantly getting hassled from the wife about all the magazines laying around the house. NOw she will start hassling me about the cyber magazine. COngratulations to all of those involved. How do you find time for jobs, family etc? CraigLifes journey is not to arrive at our grave in a well preserved body but, rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting, "Wow what a ride."

Huh? What are they? Oh, I remember... a job is what you do so you can buy camera gear, families are what you make stand in front of it while you stuff around with flash settings. Both very useful in a limited sort of way.

 Looks interesting.
One thing I've thought everytime the cover pops up on the homepage is why can't Matt be centered on the cover? It just looks like it should be.

I like the slight side composition anyway, regardless of what the original may have been. It's got cover shot written all over it. (I reckon Matt knew this when he framed it!! )
