And so we're back.

With, hopefully, pretty well most of the messages.

There has been some loss from the day on which the event occurred - the backup dataset seems to have been from earlier than what they indicated, which is ok; certainly better than being from later and reintroducing the problem.

I have not restored the PMs from over the last few days however. If that causes you an issue, please snd me a PM and I'll see what I can do to help you.

I have also decided to not update the words table, which will cause some minor loss of search functionality.

Them's the breaks!

I notice that if you search on turkish warrior virus on Google, he seems to have taken out a large number of phpBB boards...

Leek if he was smart he wouldn't of used his own IP address.....I know I wouldn't be if I was doing anything illegal. Universities, tafes, libraries, $2 netkiosks, netcafes are probably all places you can do this stuff from and from these sort of environments it makes it very hard to track down who is responsible.

Congratulations to Gary & Leigh, and also a big "thank you".

I really have no idea of what precisely would have been involved, but I can only imagine that it would have been horrendous.

The easy thing would have been to say "Sorry, out of our control, but all our archives have been lost!"

What did we get?

We were included in the process - we were actually asked whether we would prefer to ditch everything up to a few days ago, or try to recover it, knowing that:
- it may not have been possible
- it may have taken many man hours

Well, here we are, just about fully functional again.

And, for all of those like me who can't do without their daily fix of DSLR users, thanx for a terrific and dedicated effort.
