Vigorous discussion of the images and techniques is welcome and encouraged. Criticism of any mod for their choice is not. It appears that there has been an upswing in the number of images appearing in the forum - I hope the trend continues. A member who has been missing for a while takes out Photo of the Week with this delightful portrait of his brand new son. Here is a link to the original thread:viewtopic.php?f=18&t=43834 I love the expression on the child's face - in repose and so calm. Dad Geoff may want to revisit this image when teenage years arrive! I also love the framing of the baby's head with the hands, emphasised by the vignette. As it stands it is an evocative family portrait, and I think that a little more attention to the uneven background could make it a fine art portrait. Congratulations to Geoff on two counts - new Dad and winner of PotW.

Wow!! Thanks guys I am chuffed! I am finding that I'm taking sooo many photos of my new son and in having done so, t it has reignited my passion for photography. I'm currently utilising the 85mm 1.4 lens and the 50mm 1.4 lens with my trusty (now 'old') D700. In the next few days I'm planning on trying to get a nice image of the three of us with the tripod and self timer, it will all be in the timing . Thanks again. LOVING fatherhood.
