I think my sensor is in dire need of a good clean, but I'm not game to attempt a wet sensor clean myself? Anyone have any suggestions? Anyone game to put their hand up? I'll only hurt you a little if you stuff it up, I promise.

Have you blown it out with a rocket blower? I found that cleaned my sensor very well when I was too scared to do a wet clean.

goittos air blower rocket while shutter open will move the dust (to another part of the camera inside usually).

easy, fairly harmless unless you fill the blower with water

I've used the little hand blower, but I'm not going to use something else if its going to put the dust elsewhere in the camera. I'd rather have the sensor cleaned properly.

Sunnylass, a wet clean is no big deal to do and if you buy the kit and do it yourself, you will save lots of money. It takes only a few minutes to do. Many of us have taken the plunge and although it seems daunting the first time, it really is very easy. It is criminal how much they chearge to clean your camera when it is so easy and quick to do.

I was always reluctant to clean my own sensor previously but I eventually decided to learn how to do it properly and have no issues with it now..

I found that the blower would just blow the dust around and it would eventually resettle on the sensor..

But I now use an Arctic Butterfly and Sensor Loupe and get fantastic results..

1. Blow job with a "Rocket Blower"
2. Wet Job - maybe a local member can help or take it to Nikon service center

I don't know how old your camera is, but I got 1 free clean (of my Nikon - sensor and body) under warranty, at the camera clinic in Collingwood (Nikon authorised repair centre)
