Future IR body

With everyone getting new bodies, I think that separate section for you to proudly display your first image from your new acquisition is in order.

This applies to brand new bodies, as well as bodies that are simply newly acquired by you.

Future IR body

Yes another Nikon body for me.....this time a Nikon Factory Refurb D80 (this one arrived with 628 shots on the clock) destined to be converted for infra red. For the moment this camera will be kept stock until my D300 returns.

Suren, thanks, it was being at the right place at the right time...shame about having to use high ISO (800 really is the limit on a D80) and a slow lens (18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 was all I had) but it turned out well.

Where do you find a D80 with sub 630 actuations? Well this one is a Nikon Factory Refurb that I picked up via Camera Action...I was going to get one directly but the guys in Melbourne snapped them all up before I got to them

Are you going to do a Lifepixel conversion on this one? They have a sale on at the moment. $250 I think.

I'm not keen on doing a conversion myself, and definitely not keen on sending the camera that far away. I was thinking either Camera Clinic (Melbourne) or another option that I am waiting on some info on.

that image looked sh$t hot on the phone and still looks sh$t hot on the PC. Very nice image and in my books a very worthy option for potw, simplicity at its best.
