I have had my D70 for a month now and I have been shhoting with the cover on and can't see the reason for removing it. Surely this would defeat the purpose of protecting the lcd screen from damage?
Anybody got any thoughts on this one?

Monitor Cover on or off ???I was browsing other websites and I noticed a discussion about removing the monitor cover on a D70 while shooting and replacing it only for storage.

The only reason to remove it cos you may loose it, it's easier to fall off your D70 un-noticeable, and people use some types of LCD screen cover to cover the LCD instead of.

Some people have lost them, and they are about AU$15 to replace. I have removed mine, and use the following product to do the same job: http://www.purplemoo.com/pc_searchItem.asp Place 'Nikon D70' in find area and search Goodbye for now, fozzie
